Does anyone have suggestions on how to access your ward or stake indexing group on Family Search?

    @Hollie Botero Noble

    Hollie

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

[ And, I have been a Staff Member, of Family History Centres", of the Church, for many Years ... ]

    Just in passing ...

To better be able to help/assist ...

Of course, provided, that you are recorded; as, a member of BOTH of those Groups ...

Question: To access your, Ward; and/or, Stake, "Indexing"; Groups; as, WHAT?

    ie.

▬ Just another member, for BOTH of those "Groups"; or,

▬ As, an "Administrator", for BOTH of those "Groups"

    Please advise/clarify.

As, they are two quite different positions; with different purposes.

    'Thank You' in advance.

    Brett

ps: Provided, that you are recorded; as, a member of BOTH of those Groups, accessing the groups is easy.

    ie. Just go to https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/my-indexing

Being: Your "Indexing" = "Batches"; "Progress"; and, of course, "Groups", to which one is a member

    Hollie

    Furthermore ...

    Pictorially ...

Formerly, just "Indexing", NOW "Get Involved" ...

"Indexing" - ie. MY "Indexing"; and, "Groups" ...

I hope, that this may also help/assist, somewhat.

    Hi Brett

Thank you for your reply. I am needing to access my stake indexing group as an administrator.

I can see my home ward and stake as a member. I currently serve in a campus stake at BYUI. It is the BYUI stake indexing that I am unable to view.

Does the stake clerk need to do something to give me access to this group.

Thanks for your question @Hollie Botero Noble. There is an article in the Help Center titled: "In indexing groups, what are administration rights and how do I get them?" Sometimes your church calling, entered by the ward or stake clerk, automatically assigns you as a group administrator. If not, and you have been asked to participate as an administrator, you will need to have a group administrator change your role. You can access the Help Center by clicking on the question mark in the upper right corner of any Community or FamilySearch page. The link and some of the directions from the article follow:

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/in-indexing-groups-what-are-administration-rights-and-how-do-i-get-them

    Becoming a group administrator

You can become a group administrator in one of the following ways:

    • By creating a new indexing group.
    • Asking a group administrator of a current group or subgroup to change your role to group administrator.

Note: Some members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are assigned to be group administrators as part of their Church calling.
