I am having difficulty finding people in the Civil Registration Birth, Marriage and Death Index on Family search. I enter the same search parameters in Ancestry and they come up at the top. I am searching from the person page. Is there a problem with the search engine on family search.

Last year, FamilySearch changed the Search page and the search engine. This has been poorly received: the user interface has been unpopular, and the results obtained by the search engine are much less helpful. I believe FamilySearch has made some tweaks to the user interface in response to feedback but they have not made any changes (yet) to the search engine.
