If dates don't match between gathered information????
Good morning,
I am going through the Mordue family information which I have here at home. "The John Mordue Genealogy" by Edna Jean Brooks. It is the study of John Mordue and his descendants from 1790 to1982. In this book, John and Martha had 6 children listed, with their 1st being Thomas Mordue Sr. 1817 - 1901. His gravestone has dates of 1816 - 1901. I have no other documents.
Family Search records have a Thomas Mordue being Christened on Oct. 16, 1814.
My question to you, is this possibly the same person or a younger sibling.
My Thomas married Jane Moore (1823 - 1879) and had 8 children. Both died and are buried in Brantford, Ontario at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Thank you for your time
Cheryl

Does "The John Mordue Genealogy" have a list of sources for names, dates, places? It's always good to verify information from several sources, when possible.
Is this your Thomas Mordue, from the FS tree? GDVY-VY1
There are a number of sources to be reviewed on that profile. I would verify what is attached and what is not attached, to be as sure as you can about the information. It's not unusual for a grave marker to have a date that is not an exact match to some other records.

Thank you
The John Mordue Genealogy book has only names and dates, so as I'm doing through I'm looking for gravesites.
On my tree he is listed as MDMP-P8R, and there is an attachment from FS for his Christening. If I search that # someone else comes up. When I enter GDVY-VY1 then yes that is my Thomas Mordue.
I don't have access to Ancestry as I'm not a member

I don't think I mentioned Ancestry.
Most of the pending records suggested for Thomas are on FamilySearch.org. You can see the list here: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/research-help/GDVY-VY1
