Get Involved is a new volunteer experience on FamilySearch, including a web page and mobile (iOS and Android) app, that will allow you to easily search for and participate in volunteer activities such as traditional indexing, as well as aiding in the verification of computer-assisted indexed records (i.e., reviewing names in records). It includes projects such as finding families in the U.S. 1950 Census (forthcoming in April) and will evolve to include other projects over time. Currently there are records in Spanish, Portuguese, and English to review. Additional languages and records will be added in the future.

I loved the opportunity to index on the fly on my phone the early wills and land records of Virginia using the Get Involved Mobile App. Especially since I already knew the surnames of Brunswick County from my own research.

Please add more records like this to the Mobile App.

Greetings, I am doing a bit of research into my family but i am dealing with records most recently transcribed. I can see very clear errors but i am frustrated trying to find a way to get these addressed. As i am working on my research. So my new idea is why not let individuals like me help transcribe some of the records? To give a clear example unknown to the transcribes of the following "Brasil, Bahía, Registros da Igreja Católica, 1598-2007," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-8579-J?cc=2177272&wc=M78M-FZ3%3A369568701%2C370824601%2C370901601 : 24 February 2022), Salvador > Nossa Senhora do Pilar > Batismos 1824, Jan-1830, Maio > image 7 of 105; Paróquias Católicas, Bahía (Catholic Church parishes, Bahía).

are the simple add-on to the names of the enslaved, so on page 10 there is an error gige when it should be gege, and someone's name is given as Tapa when this is the last part stating their place of origin. There are many such errors before and after this where Tapa is written as Sapa and so on. Perhaps my second new idea would be if transcribers were made aware of these common features in baptismal records - something about the history maybe. Finally, how can i help make things better - thanks to this facility i have found many of my ancestors who left Brazil and returned to Africa and i would like others like me to find their ancestors too. Please HELP!!!
