Should I assume that a guardian is the name of the parent?

Marriage record has the name of the brides guardian. Should I assume that is the brides fathers name?

    As a blanket answer we seldom assume anything we do not see. On rare occasions we might have a special instruction to assume something but as said, that is very rare. It does help if you post the Shared batch code so we can be sure project is not one of those rare cases.. You can find that at the end of the project name in brackets and starting with the letter M.
