What can be done about the following?

There is someone indexing India - Madras Diocese Protestant Church Records (advanced) who is filling in every space when that information is not given in the record. Example: putting Mrs. and then the man's name when it asks for wife. How do we know the man was even married. Doing the same with parents putting Mr. and Mrs. then the subject's name. It is frustrating to make the many corrections necessary when I review. The instructions say to not "make up" information. Put only what is available in the document.

You can return the batch for indexing. When you return batch for re-indexing, you have the option to delete the fields and have the new indexer start over, or keep the fields as they are and hopefully the new indexer will correct them. You won't have to go and fix everything. Click batch at the top of the indexing page, and reindex batch.

    Hopefully this helps.

I do realize I can send it back for re-indexing but when there are so many from what is obvious one indexer, I thought a gentle email to them could provide some training. He/she is not reading the project instructions.

I have seen the same thing in this project. I've done 411 records, probably 375 of those were reviews. I would not send these back for reindexing. This is an advanced project, although it is relatively easy to do. But, I don't believe that it is one indexer or one reviewer. There are too many of them. I think there may be a group of folks who have all been given the same bad indexing instructions. The other mistakes they are making fairly consistently is to assume the burial date and the date of death are the same when the death date isn't listed and indexing a gender simply because they are in military service.
