Which number do I use for the Wisconsin SSN project?

This is the stamped File Number 438900. Which number should I put? Here are the instructions: Sometimes a series of digits precedes the actual number. These digits typically remain the same from 1 document to the next and often refer to the year. Do not include these preceding digits when you index the file number.

Please clarify.

We are waiting for an answer.

Have you checked the field instructions? Those are the purple question marks over each box in the index area. Also, you can link your batch number. Go to Help then Share Batch, copy and paste batch number here so we can pull it up and help you find your answer.

This is a restricted project. The moderators have said to please post your question in this group: https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/307-wisconsin-ssn-indexing-projects

Once you click on that link, you will have to join that group. I am guessing the answer will be a FAQ as I think it has been asked here before.

We have checked the field instructions and it does not give an example like what we are indexing. We notice that as we review, we are seeing all kinds of different entries. Some indexer are putting the whole number, some are putting the last four digits, and some are leaving it blank. These number are what is being shown.
