Antigua and Barbuda—Slave Returns, 1742–1863 [M3V5-G5Z] images scanned incorrectly

I have noticed that the documents in this project were taken from a book where all the pages on the left were photographed at a different time than the right hand pages. Therefore, when you look at prior pages or the next page you don't actually see the prior or next image. You see every other one. Most of the time this isn't a problem just annoying. However in batch [M3V5-G5Z] this is a problem because the records span both pages. So on the left hand side you get the persons name and gender but not color/race or age. I am pretty sure they are on the next page that is cut off. This is apparent if you go two pages prior to this batch because you can see part of the right page and that the color/race is on the other page but mostly cut off. I think this book needs to be rephotographed with both pages being one image or even left page, right page, left page, right page, etc. like most other projects. In reality this whole project should be scrapped and redone because of this issue and, as has been mentioned in other posts, the directions are unclear and not even correct.

Have you submitted the batch? I am getting an error message when trying to open it.

I have not submitted it. I returned it for someone else to review.

They must have already submitted it then. Once a batch is submitted, it cannot be shared. Next time you post, just hold onto the batch so others can see what you are talking about.

Another example is batch [M3V5-PJ7]. I still have it checked out. Below is the second reference image of the batch where you can tell the records cross both pages.

Thanks for sharing. All you can do is index what is on the image. The person who gets that batch in the reference image you provided will have a name, gender and color to index. But, obviously, you can only index the names on your batch. They don't usually re-photograph and based on the instructions saying that the completed index and images may have restrictions, I doubt FamilySearch owns the collection. I couldn't even see the filmstrip.
But, it sure is sad that nothing has been done with the project instructions or the bad examples.

I came across this issue reviewing this morning. I realized their color or race was on the edge of the image to the right. It was the left side of a new page that was cut off. Also most of these batches I have indexed/reviewed are blurry. It's just not the best, sadly.

No, it isn't the best - but, I try to keep in mind "Don't let perfection be the enemy of progress" or as my boss used to say, "don't let perfection be the enemy of good enough".

But the person that gets the other half of the page won't have the name to go with the color and age. Is there a way this can be escalated to someone that can do something about it?

I don't think any will do anything about it. The person who gets the other half of the page, if it was photographed, will mark it No, No Extractable Data. If the record spans two pages, then the first person will use the reference images to capture the color and age. (Your post seems to say these are not consecutive images though).
Since they didn't do anything about the error on the examples and the many questions about the project instructions, I am pretty sure they won't over this. They have known since at least the first week of February there were issues.

The pages are not consecutive so it is impossible to index the entire record.
It was probably quick and easy to take pictures of one half of the book and then the other half of the book but now the book is impossible to read correctly. Hopefully, they aren't doing future projects like this or we'll have garbage in garbage out all over the place.
