how to detach individuals who I have proved are not my ancestors

I really didn't understand the answer as to how to detach individuals who I have proved are not my ancestors.
Who do I "follow"?
Again, how do I detach a wrong ancestor that someone has put in the tree? I didn't add them, but somehow other's "trees who have some of my ancestors have come to the wrong conclusion."

Detaching relationships which have been wrongly attached is fairly straight-forward. There are probably some Help Center or other resource documents about how to do so - but a quick search didn't turn them up easily for me.
There are basically two types of relationships in FamilySearch Family Tree (that I am aware of) -
Parent - Child Relationship and Couple Relationship
When you view the person page of either the parent or child you want to remove - the method to Edit/Delete that relationship is found as a little notepad/pencil to the right of either -
the marriage of the couple
OR
the child listed below the parents
It is important (in my opinion) when editing relationships to include a Reason Statement for why you are doing so.
