Instructions for projects vary depending on the contract FamilySearch has with the owners of the project documents. That is why we need the Shared batch code in order to answer your question. There is no way to accurately answer the question without a Shared batch code.

Hi braveheart. Your link works perfectly! No need to be on facebook to access familysearch!

The second name of the mothers is indexed in the surname field. You would not index the father's surname with her name though since we do not know if they are married, or if she took his name upon marriage. Notice how they index these mother's names on the 1st Example (How to Index a Birth and Baptism Register).

No problem at all braveheart. I read the project instructions every day before I index (or at least scan them). My memory isn't what it used to be.

Thanks guys. That little purple question mark is my best friend. Great tool whoever came up with that idea. Whatever happened to control F look up lists. Too handy? Are they under control L?
