In the following batch on the 5th entry, would you all take a look and let me know if the wife, Catharina Kinghorn of Jacobus Petrus Deysel or the "moeder" name of Johanna Wilhelmina Kinghorn should be in the second parent field. Moeder is underlined.

South Africa—Dutch Reformed Church Registers, 1660–1970 [Part C][M3D8-8CP]

Thank you,

Patricia

    Hi @P Livingston,

Thank you for tackling these amazing records.

If you look at the Project Instructions, under What to Index and click on the link for How to Index a Baptism Register, Example 1 and 2, you will see that the first person listed is indexed in the First Parent's Given Names and First Parent's Surnames fields while the second person listed is indexed in the Second Parent's Given Names and Second Parent's Surnames fields. In this case, you would use the second name listed as the Second Parent (Catharina Kinghorn).

Also, as the left side of page 2 is partially cut off, it is possible that the word before Johanna Wilhelmina Kinghorn is actuall Grootmoeder, which means Grandmother.

I hope this helps and you continue to index these records.

    Linda
