I am trying to check the indexing of the following batch:

United States—Enlisted and Officer Muster Rolls and Rosters, 1916–1939 [Part O][M3KX-74S]

The person who indexed this batch before me entered the date of Sept 30, 1918, for every entry. I cannot see that date anywhere on this batch. Where did it come from?

It probably came from the reference images -- look at your tools -- reference images are the open book shown below - check the Project Instructions for how to use Reference Images 😎

Agree with previous comment. If the batch you are reviewing has no individual enlistment dates for each separate individual, then you need to use the image shown above which will show you many pages that came before the one you are reviewing. In most cases, you keep backing up until you come to the first page of that grouping which would give info about what military unit, the location of that unit, and a date that the info was compiled (like a title page). The date at the top of the page would be the date for everyone listed on that document, no matter how many pages that ends up being.
