    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

Short Answer: You attach/add, the Memory", to ONE individual/person; then you just "Tag" the others concerned.

Here are some "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

    Just my thoughts.

    I hope, that this/these may help/assist, somewhat.

Oops, part of the question disappeared:

If I upload a photo or document that lists multiple ancestors, how do I connect that to each one, without having to upload against each individual?

    Hello @Ralph Gray

Here is a link for tagging in memories:

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-tag-memories-of-my-ancestors-or-relatives-in-family-tree

As I understand it, we can tag multiple people on one memory. I'm not sure if there is a limit. If so I suppose you could add the memory twice. Like if you have very many people to tag.

    Anitra :)

Thank you Brett. Your solution was perfect. I hadn't considered the "tag" option, but it does exactly what I wanted to do. I haven't tried to tag a PDF yet, but photos work fine.

    Ralph

I am just glad, that what I provided, was able to help/assist.

That is what this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was originally established for, a number of Years ago ...

    Users/Patrons, HELPING / ASSISTING, Users/Patrons ...

And, which, has been operating, quite successfully, for all those many Years.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    "Tagging"; and, PDF Documents ...

    Now ...

    That is another story ...

I believe, that you can ONLY have, one "Tag", in a PDF Document in "Memories".

    [ ie. The WHOLE Document ... ]

And, I stand corrected, if I am wrong.

Here is another "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

Can I upload a PDF to Memories?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-upload-a-pdf-to-memories

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-upload-a-pdf-to-memories

    Where it states;

    Quote

    ------------------

You can upload a PDF file to FamilySearch Memories. If you upload a PDF file, be aware of the following:

    • FamilySearch keeps the formatting of the PDF file, such as the page breaks, layouts, and fonts.
    • The system stores PDF files as documents. You cannot upload them as or change them to photos or stories.
    • You cannot associate a photo that you uploaded separately to FamilySearch with a PDF. The photo must be contained within the PDF file.
    • If the PDF file contains photos, you cannot tag the photos with persons in Family Tree.
    • You cannot use the Find feature in Memories to search for photos or text within PDF documents. The Find feature searches only the words of the PDF file’s title and description.

    ------------------

I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective.

    Brett
