    All

    FYI

    "Related", 'Comment'; and, 'Post' ...

    [ That have BOTH, subsequently, been "Moved" / Removed" (ie. in some cases, no longer can be found ... ]

    FamilySearch Help

    'Category' = Family Tree

    [ 1 ] 'Comment' ... 22 January 2022 at 11:54 am

    In the Original 'Post' of:

    Has something changed in merging? unmerging?

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/64608/has-something-changed-in-merging-unmerging

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/64608/has-something-changed-in-merging-unmerging

    That 'Comment' being ...

    I just mistakenly merged two identities. I can't figure out how one does an "unmerge".

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/422219/#Comment_422219

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/422219#Comment_422219

    And ...

    [ 2 ] 'Post' ... 22 January 2022 at 12:06 ... "Created" by "Admin" ...

    How do I unmerge two identities?

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/114452/how-do-i-unmerge-two-identities

    The 'Comment' AGAIN being ...

    I just mistakenly merged two identities. I can't figure out how one does an "unmerge".

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/422219/#Comment_422219

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/422219#Comment_422219

    Hence ...

    It is very hard, when one is working (ie. responding in) a 'Post'; and, the post 'literally' either,

    (1) CLOSES down, when one is in 'Mid' process; and/or,

    (2) Has been CLOSED down; and, one ONLY finds out, when one goes to "Post Comment"

    eg.

    Pending image.png

    Very disconcerting ...

    Just my thoughts.

    FYI

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    [ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    Here are some "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

    @lazylady

    FYI

    Do not feel bad; as, such, is Not unusual ...

    The "Help Centre", in 'FamilySearch', is NOT always easy, to negotiate; nor, forthcoming ...

    And, I have been using such, for many Years ...

    I STILL have trouble locating "Articles", that I know are there; as, I accessed, that Day or the previous Day ...

    [ So, it is not as if, they have been 'Taken Down' ... I eventually find them ... but, such a waste of time ... ]

    I have many "Articles" in a "Doc" File, just so, that I can access them quickly, instead of try to literally 'fight' with the "Help Centre".

    Good idea! Sometimes I think on any data search, one just needs to know or happen upon the "magic" word to include in the search. With your help, I was successful in undoing the merge!

    @lazylady

    FYI

    I am just glad, that I was able to provide you, with some help/assistance.

    That, is what this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was originally established for, a number of Years ago.

    Users/Patrons, HELPING / ASSISTING, Users/Patrons ...

    And, has been quite successfully operating, as such, for all those many Years.

    I am so glad, that you were able to "Unmerge"/"Restore".

    [ Such a very necessary skill ... ]

    Good Luck.

    In your future, work; and, endeavours, in Genealogy / Family History.
