Add Birth Place for Denmark Census (abt 1880-1930) Indexed Images
Hello! I have noticed that for a large amount of individuals' records in Denmark (currently working on Census records from about 1880-1930), the birth place - which is one option for the essential location info needed to perform temple ordinances - is readily available in the census. (See this record, for example https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSL6-6SQ4-L?i=492&cc=2718007&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQ2Z8-1V4N). I worry that, because this information is not being indexed, users who are not comfortable searching the images may assume this birth location information is NOT available, which could limit the number of people who are eligible for temple ordinances. I think it could be a helpful addition to allow this information to be included in the indexed record as often as possible! Thanks for your help and hard work!
I'm not sure it's a good idea to index information for the convenience of "users who are not comfortable searching the images". When someone uses a record to add information to the Tree (and eventually submit for ordinances), that person should fully understand the record. Note the warning that "more information may be available"; and I've seen many places where the indexed information is wrong.
But if that information was indexed, I agree it could be a great time-saver to search by it.0
