We cared for a friend in our home till she passed away in 2020 at 98 yrs old. She was never married and had no children but was family to us. Is there anyway we can do her temple work?

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    [ And, I happen to be a Member o the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

Short Answer(s): 'Yes', you most certainly can; and, depending upon the circumstances, possibly 'Yes'.

    FISRT ...

You can ADD your Friend; as, an "Unconnected Person" (ie. NOT connected/linked to your "Ancestral" Lines.

Here is a "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

How do I add an unconnected person to Family Tree?

    SECOND ...

There are "Caveats", that must be met; before, doing the "Temple" Work for Friend.

    For starters ...

Here are some "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

If I add an unconnected person to Family Tree, can I do ordinances for him or her?

Can I request proxy temple ordinances for a friend?

Doing temple work for people not related to me

I cannot find any close living relatives to grant permission for ordinances

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/i-cannot-find-any-close-living-relatives-to-grant-permission-for-ordinances

    Good Luck.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.
