Almost all records from Považská Bystrica are available online, except for one film
Hello, I've been researching my great-grandmother's hometown, Považské Podhradie in Slovakia. The records I'm using are https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/766093 and https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/765927. These have been incredibly helpful. However just one section of the records is separated from the rest, baptisms from 1789-1859 (film #2009316). For some reason they are not available to view online, while the rest of the baptisms 1859 onward, and marriages & deaths 1789 onward, are all available.
For Považská Bystrica it's the same, where almost all records from 1764-1895 are online except for deaths 1881-1898 (again film #2009316).
I'm wondering why that portion of the records are unavailable. They all appear to be from the same source (Štátny oblastný archív v Bytče), and since the rest of the records from these locations & dates are online, it wouldn't make sense to be a copyright restriction right? Until I can view the baptisms pre-1859, I've hit a dead end in my research. So I'm hoping there is a way for that film to be added online with all the others.

The film of pre-1759 baptisms is Item 7 of film 2009316. The 1881-1898 deaths are Items 1-2 of the same film.
ALL items of a film must be publishable before FamilySearch can publish the whole film. This means privacy laws must be satisfied and permission from record owners obtained for each item. If one item cannot be published, then the entire film cannot be published.
I looked at the other Items in the Catalog, and found that Items 3-6 has records from 1938. Therefore you will have to wait until either FamilySearch is able to split films into their separate Items (they have previously said this is a long-term priority for them) or Items 3-6 can be published, which if the privacy limit is 100 years would not be until January 2039.
You may be able to use the FHL Lookup service in the meantime: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/FHL_Lookup_Services

Hi, thanks for the reply. I didn't realize this film included records from 1938 in the middle, that seems random but I guess it explains why it's not viewable. Unfortunate coincidence that the exact records I need are part of 2009316 instead of with the rest on 2009317. I'll just keep on the lookout for when eventually film items can be posted separately.
I've checked out the lookup service, which is definitely a great option, submitted some requests. It's tricky though when everybody in the town has the same few names, hard to tell if the record they find is for the correct person without context of other pages. So many relatives I want to look for. Maybe somehow I can get a hold of a genealogist or someone in Slovakia who is able to go view records in person.
Thanks again for checking this and explaining it.
