I am not sure how to add this group to 'My Groups"

Right now I access it through a link from the FHC Tech group

@Jaelene Starr - If you're talking about groups here in the community, the easiest way is to select "My Groups" from the sidebar on the right-hand side of the page.

Navigate to My Groups - Jan 13.png

If that's not what you're looking for, please let us know.

Humm, I asked this question in what I thought was the group for Family History Center Directors. That group does not show in the list of possible groups to add. Right now the only way to get to that group is via a link in the FHC Tech group (of which I am a member).

My desire is to be able to add that specific group so that it will show up in My Groups.

    thanks so much!

    Hello again @Jaelene Starr,

In that case, I suggest bookmarking the group so you can navigate to it with one click. Here is an article in case you're unfamiliar with that.

Must have something to do with the type of group it is.

You might try this. Next time you are in there, look at the top for the Group Leaders. Send a direct message to one of them by clicking on the envelop in the top right hand corner here, clicking on the new message icon, and in Recipients typing in a leader's name. Do not start with an @ sign.

You may only actually be able to join the group in a way that will put it in My Groups if they send you an invitation link.

@Jaelene Starr Is the Family History Center Directors different from the Family History Center Consultants?

There is a previous question about this stating the directors group is the consultant group. https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/29300/is-there-are-group-for-family-history-center-directors

I am a member of the Family History Center Consultants, but would love to have access to one specifically for directors as our questions may differ considerably from consultants.

"General Questions" (and other CATEGORIES like it) are NOT the same thing as GROUPS in the GROUPS area.

MY GROUPS is only for true Groups of which "General Questions" is not a part.

(though I understand why you are asking - and I also have wondered the same.)
