In indexing the above batch, I have seen "mas chauncy" after more than 1 entry. Could this possibly be a title, phrase or term instead of a name?

Example: C Humphrey Mas Chauncy or S C Johnson Mas Chauncy

Was unclear how to index.

Thanks so much,

I think that is Mas Chancery, or an abbreviation of such (Master of Chancery) so it is a title of a person appointed to assist the court.
