I had the following group record sent to me by another researcher. On the right hand side (not pictured here) it has the LDS Ordinances, such as Baptism, Confirmation, Initiary, Endowment ,Sealing to Parents, etc., and also the Temple or place. How do I see the documentation used by LDS? I can't find it on Family Search. I see no documentation of marriage between the for two persons.

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ An, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    As I am "Related" to Mavil WALLACE ( KD3S-X2S ) ...

    just in passing ...

Please be aware, that "Temple" Work has NO "Documentation" regarding Genealogy/Family History attached.

ie. 'Seeing' the "Temple" Work will NOT help/assist with Genealogy/Family History work/research.

What you 'see' (as, a User/Patron, who is not a member of the Church), for those individuals/person in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is the SAME as we 'see' (as, Users/Patrons who are Members of the Church) - nothing more, nothing less.

ie. The are NO, "Sources"; or, "Notes", confirming the "Marriage".

What you 'see', on that "Family Group Record", pertaining to "Temple" Work, is ALL there is.

There certainly may NOT, be any "Records", in "Records" Part of 'FamilySearch', for that "Couple", pertaining to "Marriage".

    And ...

Whereas, who knows if there is any any "Records" elsewhere.

    Just my thoughts.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

It used to be that the name of the person submitting the record, those three name sheets like the above, would be recorded and could be seen. That is no longer the case and there is no paper documentation. All that is up to the family members now. There is no official, or unofficial record or documentation of any sources kept by FamilySearch so they are useless for research purposes.

    As an aside ...

I just took a 'look' through the "ChangeLog" for Mavil WALLACE ( KD3S-X2S ) ...

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/KD3S-X2S

There has been considerable "Changes" over time ...

Take a 'look' at the "Changes" to the "Name" ...

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/KD3S-X2S/preferred-name

    And ...

    Take a 'look' at the "Merges"/"Combines" ...

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/KD3S-X2S/merges

    Quite complex ...

Thanks for the answers, they helped a lot. At least now I know I have to find any proof, if it exists, myself. I won't be wondering if there is any other documentation than what I see there.

Again, thank you for the information.

    Rick
