Help Using Photo Search

I have come back to FamilySearch after many months to use your 'photo search' feature. It brings up 10,000 results. Searching for MARK DAVIS VAUDEVILLE is specific enough that I shouldn't get every single MARK in the directory. Not even DAVIS is in the search results, nor VAUDEVILLE. Searching for only MARK DAVIS also yields 10,000 results,. After putting MARK DAVIS in quote marks, still received 10,000 search results. Very disappointing. Website programming in this day and age should be better than this. I'm off to websites that understand syntax.

It appears to me, you should have begun a NEW post instead of tagging on to this long string of posts.
BUT
Two options
either put the entire name in quotes
"MARK DAVIS VAUDEVILLE "
or join the words with the AND qualifier (be sure to put in UPPER case)
MARK AND DAVIS AND VAUDEVILLE
but it seems like nothing is being returned for that combination.
Keep in mind to the system these are just words (strings of characters) - it really doesnt know these are three words that make up a single name. So by doing the above you are asking the system to treat them as a string of words
However be aware that even with the above - this will only work if the phrase "MARK DAVIS VAUDEVILLE" happens to be in the title or description of the item. and it seems that is not the case of any items out there.
If you are looking for items that are hooked to a single person MARK DAVIS VAUDEVILLE you are best off simply going to that persons record and clicking on the Memories tab. But again I look for a person by that name and I dont find anything in Family Tree (for a person that has that middle name at least).
Is this person a living person or a deceased person?
are you looking for photos you put into the system or items other people put into the system?
