I wouldn't send it back unless you start seeing a pattern. New indexer who didn't know what to do with the preset entries... It's somewhat like the ones that Jerry is posting that are NED or mis-indexed - maybe the moderators are keeping track and identifying those who need help. They haven't said much about it. I think @LindaCP might be handling these problems. So, you've provided the batch code and the problem, that should be enough.

Do you think maybe that father's name says Alien B Kamara (no tribe or nationality recorded) and his name is simply Baber?

I finally did my "due diligence" after finishing the pork and kraut, and searched for Aleiu Kamara - there is one born in Liberia. So, I would agree with Larry and index the most complete name Aleiu Baber Kamara.

    HI HelenMolton-Huling,

For this Sierra Leone project, this particular type of live birth form only come one to a batch. The indexer must have used reference images to fill the other 4 entries. You should delete entries 2 to 5 make sure everything on entry 1 is correct and then submit the batch. I noticed that the Childs sex is filled in as male but on the image it is not marked. This should be changed to (blank). The father's name is shown twice and is different in the two references so you need to deal with that. Check the spelling of the mother's name. The hand writing is pretty bad.

    Hope this helps.

Hi again, I thought the fathers name was listed correctly as Alieu B. Kamara, but was not the most complete possible name as the informant who is the father is listed as Baber Kamara which would indicate that the initial B in the name stands for Baber.

So would it be correct to enter the name as Alieu Baber Kamara, following the general indexing guideline:

    • Names may have been written in more than 1 place in a document. Type the most complete version of the name in the indexing field.

OK... So I will remove Entries 2-5 and Review the 1st one . I'll correct Aleiu Baber Kamara. Larry and Melissa, thank you for your help. I believe you both have helped me in the past.

    Happy New Year
