How to fix an entry?
I'm a missionary over in Poland, and we got a email from someone who uses FamilySearch saying there was an error in an entry, this is a Google Translated copy of what he sent us below, if anyone has any ideas how to adjust this or what to do, please let me know and I can get it figured out in Polish if that would be better than adjusting it in English. I don't really use this very much so I don't quite know what I'm doing here:
1. Film 71829 Items 1-4 DGS 7948984
is: the Chełmno parish (Chełmno)
should be: Chełmica parish (Włocławek)
The names of the places mentioned in the death certificates show that they refer to a completely different parish.
2. Film 1343939 Items 2-3 DGS 8113132
is: Birth records 1821-1822 Birth records 1824
should read: Files of marriages, announcements, marriages and deaths 1824 Files of births, announcements and weddings 1821-1822
Thank you for posting your concern in the Community. Because this issue was created to report errors in the FamilySearch catalog, I will move this post to the Search category so that it can be viewed by other individuals who may have a similar concern as the do their research.
You have been made aware that some of the information on the catalog pages is not consistent with what is included in specific Polish microfilms. Please respond to the email you received with the link to the knowledge article that is in our Help Center which explains that currently no corrections can be made to information on the catalog pages. The catalog is currently locked because it is undergoing some major updates. Hopefully, some of the errors that currently exist can and will be corrected through the updates. Please review this knowledge article yourself as well since it does say that when the updates are finished, this same article will provide instructions about how to report errors.
FamilySearch users can locate this article on their own if they sign into their account and click the Help icon at the upper right, and then click Help Center. On the Help Center page they can search with: correct catalog
