Several Generations Disappear after Temple Name Request

Hi, this has happened more than once. I often just browse my tree to find family names with available temple ordinances. After I request a name and hit "accept," several generations of expanded family members in the tree disappear and I have to go back and find where I was. This is especially annoying if there were several names next to each other with ordinances ready. I have to figure out exactly which arrows I expanded and sometimes it takes a while. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.

    Welcome to the "Community.Familysearch" forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

Re: "Temple" Work; and, "OrdinancesReady" ...

    Just a suggestion ...

BEFORE, you select the "TAKE TO THE TEMPLE" ...

    Make sure that ...

IF, you are using "OrdinancesReady", when you are presented, with that List, of available Work; THEN, in the FIRST instance, select the "LEARN ABOUT [ "Name" ]", for each individual/person, on the List, individually; so, that way, the individual(s)/person(s) is (/are) opened in a NEW 'Tab', it their own right.

Where, you can work on them, checking them out; and, also regarding, their "Temple" Work; and, their Family.

While, STILL maintaining "OrdinancesReady" OPEN in the ORIGINAL 'Tab'

    or,

Alternately, you can select the the "Name" of an individual/person; and, open them in either, a NEW 'Tab'; or, a NEW 'Window' - the choice is yours.

    Again ...

Where, you can work on them, checking them out; and, also regarding, their "Temple" Work; and, their Family.

While, STILL maintaining "OrdinancesReady" OPEN in the ORIGINAL 'Tab'.

    Just a thought.

I hope, that this may help/assist.

You might try using the "Recents" button, which will show you the lasts name you worked with.

Recents is a feature in the Tree views and on the Person Page. Recents includes these items:

    • A data entry box to find a person by name or ID.
    • A link to the starting person.
    • A link to the root person, if the root and starting person are different.
    • A link to Add Unconnected Person.

The list contains the 50 most recent people you viewed in Family Tree.

    Steps (website)

    1. Sign in to FamilySearch.org.
    2. Click Family Tree.
    3. Click Tree.
    4. Click Recents.
    5. To search for a name on the list, use the search bar at the top of the Recents list.
    6. To view the person page, click a name on the list. Or to view the tree of the person, click the pedigree icon.
    7. To remove a name from the list, in the top-right corner, click Edit. Click the x next to each name that you want to remove, and then in the top-right corner, click Done.

    Steps (mobile app)

    1. In the Family Tree mobile app:
      • Android: In the top-right corner, tap the people icon.
      • Apple iOS: In the bottom toolbar, tap Recents.
    2. Use the search bar to quickly find a name.
    3. To open a Person page, tap a name.
    4. To remove a name, swipe left, and then tap Remove.

    Steps (Family Tree Lite)

Family Tree Lite does not include the Recents feature. Visit the full website.
