Duplicate Entry - One living and one deceased

Looking at my mother's side of the family and noticed my aunt is listed twice, once with her maiden name and listed as deceased (L23Q-THN) and once with her married name and still living (GM95-1ZF).

The married and still living is the correct entry, GM95-1ZF. If you look at the source material you will see there is only one Barbara Foerster listed in census. Barbara was born Oct 23, 1929 and she married Reed Melicher on June 6, 1951. Reed passed away on Feb 15, 2006. Barbara is still living.

How do I remove the incorrect listing, L23Q-THN?

Thank you.

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    FYI

You DO NOT "Remove", the STILL "Living" version, of the individual/person Barbara L. FOERSTER ( L23Q-THN ).

    IF, Barbara L. FOERSTER ( L23Q-THN ), is STILL "Living"; THEN, ...

You simply "Edit", the "Death" record for Barbara L. FOERSTER ( L23Q-THN ), "Changing" the 'Status', from "Deceased", to "Living"; plus, provide a "Reason Statement" - simple as that.

The "Changing" the 'Status', from "Deceased", to "Living", will NOT be IMMEDIATE.

When, you "Changing" the 'Status', from "Deceased", to "Living", that will initiate and send the matter, to 'FamilySearch' "Support".

'FamilySearch' "Support" WILL investigate; and, provided that 'FamilySearch' "Support" concurs, the "Change" of 'Status', from "Deceased", to "Living", will be ratified; and, the "Change" will be IMPLEMENTED - it may take a day or two - depending on the 'workload'.

    As an aside ...

Once. the "Change" of 'Status', from "Deceased", to "Living", has been implemented ...

Barbara L. FOERSTER ( L23Q-THN ) will then be "Moved" from "Public" view/access; as, a "Living" individual/person; and, into the "Private Spaces", of the User/Patron, who "Created" her - ONLY to be 'seen'/'access' by that User/Patron.

Here is a "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

How do I change the status from deceased to living in Family Tree?

    Good Luck.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

If the explanation is accurate, the system is not working. My friend sitting next to me is deceased on Family Tree. The contributor who "deceased" her left no explanation. Something has to give.
