Records out of order

Indexing the following image: US, Missouri—County Marriages, 1806–1969 [Part O] [M9LN-4J8]

Records are indexed left to right on the first page and then continue similarly on page two. The work is correct but the order is not. Is the solution to accept the work since it is correct but out of order and only 12 records on the image or return to be reindexed? Thank you.

    Hi Sarah and Marian.

I did not check the correctness of the indexing, but presuming it correct, it does not need to be reindexed. The order does not matter to the FS search engine. The Researchers will find the image and their ancestors regardless of the indexing order

For the sake of the Reviewer is is best that the Indexer follow the “top to bottom, left to right” convention for predictability’s sake.

Below is a Knowledge Article on this:

How should I index records with multiple pages?

When multiple pages or records appear in one image, index the records in the order they were written, if that can be determined. Otherwise, index from top to bottom and left to right, as if reading a book.

Note: In web indexing, the order of indexing is not as important as it once was. However, this method is still preferred.

Hi Sarah. There are those who will know more about this than me, but in my opinion, this batch should be reindexed and there should be a way to let the indexer know of their mistake.

    Thank you for reviewing.
