The index only contains the month day and year license issued but not the date of marriage. Do I add the month and day with year or leave those fields empty

From the Field Help for Marriage Year, bullet point 3, we read: "If a marriage date was not indicated, type the date based on the following priority:

    1. License date
    2. Latest banns date
    3. Consent date
    4. Recording date
    5. Any date other than a birth date

In other words we index whatever date we find in that list of priority unless it is a birth date, in which case we do not index that birthdate.

    Thank you for asking!
