I'm reviewing: Missouri—County Marriages, 1806–1969 [Part O][M9LD-KWC]

The Entry asks for Marriage info. The Indexer entered the No.of Licenses numbers. The only dates are Date of Issuing License.

When you click on the field, a purple question mark appears. Click on that and you will find the Field Helps for each field.

There you find that the indexer is correct to enter the license date based on the Field Help Instructions:

If a marriage date was not indicated, type the date based on the following priority:

    1. License date
    2. Latest banns date
    3. Consent date
    4. Recording date
    5. Any date other than a birth date

I got worried @HelenMolton-Huling when I saw your post that said OK I will enter Blank on the dates and thanks, Melissa. It is sometimes very difficult to communicate in these threads - so I wanted to make sure that we were on the same song sheet.

As a reviewer your job is to question every bit of data entered! Don't apologize for doing your job diligently! You asked when you did not know. That makes you a perfect reviewer!

The date would fit under 5. Any date other than a birthdate so should be indexed not marked blank.

Every date in this project would be indexed except for birthdates.

Since this project has no birthdates you would enter the issue date of the license. I am working on this project also. Please, please do not mark the marriage date blank! Thank you.

No, @HelenMolton-Huling, you would not enter a Blank on the marriage Day, Month, Year. You accept the license date which the indexer CORRECTLY entered!

The field help says if there is no marriage date, then enter the License Date.

If there was no marriage or license date then you would enter the most recent bann date, or consent date, or recording date.

It would be VERY RARE not to have a date to index on these given that you have five possibilities.

    Thanks to all who answered.

"Date of Issuing License" makes sense to me. I had NO intention to add <BLANK> in the Day, Month, Year dates till I had heard from you.

Again Thank you all for setting me straight. Apology to the Indexer for questioning their work.
