I am trying to review an index of a marriage license. The date the license was issued is there but not the date of the marriage which is the information being asked for. Is the issued date of the license to be filled in the index field or blank out the marriage dates in the index field?

Have you checked the project instructions for a list of acceptable dates?

I would help you check but with out the project title or batch code I don't know which project you are working on and there are differences between projects.

You will find your answer in the field helps for Marriage day/month/year.

The field helps are accessed by clicking on the purple question mark that appears when you click on the field.

Usually there are priority lists for indexing marriage dates when the actual date of marriage is not on the image. One of those on the list is License Date.

It is really important for indexers and reviewers to read all of the project instructions, look at all the examples, and read all of the field helps for each project. They do change among collections. It is also important for reviewers to index a few batches of a new project before they begin to review.
