May we have a shared batch code so we can look at this? It is the 7 numbers and letters starting with 'M' following the project name.
Note: If anyone has an answer go ahead and answer.

In the Batch (menu)> Settings: Language (tab) you can change the Project language for Field Help and Project Instructions to English. I don't know whether the problem you are experiencing with typing input as Italian is related to the change of Language in these Settings (it shouldn't be) or through your browser/keyboard language settings? International characters in the Data Entry (menu) should still be available for entering in the Entry Fields.
We might need a little more help by knowing how you changed the language to begin with...
I downloaded a random Italian batch with these Batch Settings and the Entry fields type the letters I type in - not sure what the problem is...

The erench and english alphabet are the same with a few exceptions: a,c,e,i,o,u,y. You need to open the international letters either by doing what Genthusiast suggested or by clicking on the second icon from the right (ñ) and choose the letter you need. You can keep the international characters window open and move it around the screen for easy access. If you are working on a Mac, you have the luxury of holding down the corresponding key and the international letters will pop up for you.
