change DECEASED to LIVING
Virginia Louise Kinzler 1935–LIVING • LJ35-BP9 and her husband Robert Alfred Colby contacted me regarding their info on Family Tree. They both showed as DECEASED but they were both LIVING. I contact FS Support in early October and Robert’s record has disappeared from view so has been changed to LIVING. Great! But Ginny’s record still shows her as deceased! In the Death field there is a reason that it is correct “FSSDTL-38691” - which provides no real information. Ginny & Bob attended the Colby Family Reunion back in August and contacted me to ask to get her record removed from view in Family Tree. PLEASE change that record to LIVING.
Relationship: Spouse of my 7th cousin once removed
PLEASE

Hello Alice Colby Volkert
Thank you for contacting Community. I would suggest that you go to Virginia Louise Kinzler's page, scroll down to death, click edit, and change to living, then give your reason and save. This will create a case that goes to another department. They will review it and get back to you. The change may not show for a while. Please be sure your phone and email are current.

I received notification that my first cousins & spouses were changed from "deceased" to living but am now told I don't have access to them, but the person who killed them off does. The email went on to say that I could enter them again. If the person who submitted the info doesn't realize they are living, they may kill them off again. Also, entering them again opens up the possibility of duplicates. Seems there needs to be some changes to this method like allowing the person who made the correction to keep the living relatives.
BTW, how do you decide that a person is still living? I suspect you don't take a lot of time to do that.
