I thought when I entered my info I was working on my own tree? No?
I don't add anything to my tree on here, I guess because it is not my tree? I thought it was at 1st but now I see other info has been added that I know to be incorrect but I can't put the correct answer into what is I thought my tree. I just ignore the tree to access records. Is it about the correct answer or the popular answer?

The tree on FamilySearch is intended to be one tree for everyone. It's not my tree, your tree, or my cousin's tree. We all work on it together. Editing/changing is open to all participants.
Not everyone is careful. Sometimes there are same name errors. Those can be fixed, and the more evidence provided, the less likely it is that someone else will change the individual lprofile.

Thank you for participating in the FamilySearch Community.
You are correct, FamilySearch/Family Tree is different from many other sites in that it is a shared/Communal tree that everyone contributes to, with the goal of building a single tree of the whole of mankind. This means that when people share family lines they are often working on the same data. Working with others has its challenges but many benefits too like sharing /not duplicating research. Yes, errors are sometimes made but these can be resolved. There are also inbuilt features in FamilySearch that help minimize incorrect changes etc. The following knowledge articles may help:
Hope this helps.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
You are not alone
'Yes', unfortunately, belatedly, you have found out what "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is about ...
So ...
That Said ...
Just so that you are fully aware ...
Here an old 'standby' of mine, that I have previously proffered on occasion ...
Most new (and, some old) Users/Patrons, DO NOT understand, the basic 'nature' and 'premise', of "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree", in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees', in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
And, most importantly ...
We DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, Our OWN "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron, can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change), ANY "Deceased" individual/person, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
Now ...
That Said ...
NONE of us are PERFECT ...
We ALL make MISTAKES ...
"Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is about 'Collaboration" ...
IF, you, 'see'; or, know of, a MISTAKE, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, simply, address/fix it.
You have the OPTION to 'Message' the User/Patron who made the mistake, if you so desire.
You can do such:
(1) BEFORE; or,
(2) AFTER,
making any "Change"/"Correction", the choice is yours.
Remember just be courteous in any "Messaging".
You never know, it may be, a LONG LOST Relative; or, an EXTENDED Relative, you did not even know about.
The PREFERENCE, is for "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', to be as CORRECT; as, POSSIBLE.
[ But, as we know, NONTHING is PERFECT ... ]
Just remember, "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', is a 'Collaborative" effort, by all.
I know that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope that this provides some additional, insight; and, perspective.
Brett
