Catalog Errors
How do I get FamilySearch to correct an error in its catalog? I reported the following error back in August 2021, and the reply told me that they were doing a major update to the Catalog and "hopefully this error will be corrected in the process". Find the error by searching the Catalog with KeyWord "Mt Isa". I am interested in the Cemetery in Mt Isa - the first entry of the search results. There are spelling errors Cemetery/Cemeterey, Conventional/Coventional, and these are bad enough, but then further down I read "Chronological Index to Graves at the Mt Isa Cemeterey (sic), Queensland, New Zealand........" Mt Isa is a town in Queensland, Australia. False information is not helpful to a researcher. It is disappointing that FamilySearch seems not to care about researchers.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience the catalog errors are creating for you.
Here is the information we have been given: FamilySearch engineers are transitioning the Catalog to new hardware and software. During the transition, the catalog is locked. They are not able to make corrections at this time.
There is an article in the Help Center titled, "How do I request a correction to the FamilySearch Catalog?" That article will be updated with instructions on how to report errors, as soon as the transition is complete.
We hope the transition will be completed soon.
Best Wishes.

Thank you for the speedy answer. One has to wonder how long this process will take. IT people are a world of their own.
