Do moderators routinely check our "Community" private messages?

I am sure it is necessary to have some sort of administrative access to private messages between Community members - to investigate reports of an abusive remark, say - but I just wondered if these messages are monitored as a matter of course.

Naturally, I (and hopefully everybody else) would not wish to be insensitive or make inappropriate comments, but there are certain things I would like to remain strictly confidential (between me and the other person) and am concerned that someone else might be checking comments literally meant to be "for their eyes only".

    Hello @Paul W,

    As far as I know, no one or group is checking private messages between people in the Community. I have not heard of that.

    Thanks for your question 😊

    @Paul W

    Thank you for posting in the Community about private messaging.

    The only way we can investigate messages, sent between users, is by having the one with the issue send a screenshot of the message. We cannot view them ourselves.
