Birth date

My ancestor was born in 1788 in Perth, Scotland, yet when I tried to see if more info could be gained from it, I got lots of dates before that and none of 1788. Your old system was much better and easier to use, now you can only see one entry at a time.

    Hello @MickofSaltwood. Thank you for your comments. New systems (although designed to be an improvement) can be difficult to get the best from initially. Did you try clicking on "More Options"? This enables you to enter more info to narrow down your search. It is set up like that to enable less experienced users to be able to search easily, whilst offering the opportunity to be more detailed in your search when able.

    I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can only see one entry at a time. Could you clarify that please? When I use the search option, it brings up the page of records for me to scroll through.

    Perhaps reading through the article below may suggest various methods of searching records.
