Alphabetical listing of my Family Tree - Using a Spreadsheet.

It seems that many Family Search Users have wanted to create a "List of their Contributions" to Family Search and have found difficulty in doing so.

There is a workaround which uses a "Spread-Sheet" Program and a little time exporting the data from Family Search.

The spreadsheet software will produce a filtered, alphabetically sorted listing of your entire Family Search Contributions.

It takes a little time but I converted a few thousand persons from "My Contributions" in to a searchable database along with a hyperlink to enable one to access the person's data in Family Search.

The hyperlink allows you to go straight to the persons data in Family Search - you then simply insert your updated data/corrections/new information straight in to Family Search.

It leaves everything intact, does not tamper with your "inplace" data on Family Search and takes about half an hour.

A very labor saving workaround.

    Hi, Eddy,

How did you do this, please? Microsoft Excel or some special app?

    Thanks,

    Catherine
