Is there a way to change the tree to the biological line? The information is available when following the first marriage but does not show up in my tree. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thank you for reaching out to us in this forum.

Regarding your question " is there a way to change the Tree to the biological line?

We are pleased to note that you found the biological line and want to add the correct parents to your Family Tree

    We would recommend the following:

You can add another parent in Family Tree by going to your detail page and click on "Add Parent." Then when you add the parent, you can indicate a biological relationship as described in the instructions above. Also you can indicate your father who adopted you (raised you), the same way.

How do I add a parent in Family Tree?

One of the most direct ways to add parents is by linking them to a child already in your tree.

    Steps (website)

    1. While signed in to FamilySearch.org , click Family Tree.
    2. Navigate to the Person page of a child of a parent you want to add.
    3. If you do not see "Vitals" near the top of the page, click Details.
    4. Scroll down to the Family Members section.
    5. Under Parents and Siblings, click Add Parent.
    6. Enter information about the parent, and click Next, which is available after you click Deceased. (If you know the ID of the parent, click By ID Number.)
    7. If Family Tree found people who match your search, it lists them. Indicate whether you need to add a matching person or create a new one:
    • If the person is already in Family Tree, click Add Match.
    • If the person is not in Family Tree, click Create Person.
    • To adjust your search, click Refine Search.

@Alice Goich Sellers Booth If your concern is to "change the tree to the biological line? " , and you are hoping to have that line being the preferred line of ancestors, when you long into Family Search, you may change (for instance) how the Landscape few displays a particular line by designating which line is the "preferred" line. How do I set the preferred spouse or parents in Family Tree?

Hope this helps you travel down your desired branch on the tree .

You can find this Article in the Help Center, using search term, How to set preferred.
