index last names such as O'Brien, Macdonald, Mc Donald, etc. Other names such as Van...

I know that a few years ago protocols came out for indexing these types of names. I cannot seem to find that list and I want to do the indexing/reviewing correctly. Can you help me?

    You type what you see.

    "It can be difficult to tell whether a space exists between a prefix and the last name. Record it either way. The system overlooks spaces, so type what you see."

    You can also use punctuation now, so you could include the apostrophes.

    On review, spaces, capitalization, and punctuation do not count as errors.
