Indexing information from Reference Images

I am indexing United States Muster Rolls & Rosters. The image which I am indexing contains the name of the person and some other per information to be indexed; however the date of enlistment is not show on that image. The date of enlistment is on the subsequent image which I can view using the "Reference Images" feature. Should I extract the date of enlistment from the +1 reference image and insert it in the table which I am filling for the current (1) image or should I just mark the date entries as blank?

Hi Brent. You do index that information. It falls under the General Indexing Guidelines (GIG) section that you'll find as the third section of your Instructions: "What to Do When Records Span 2 Images or to View Additional Images." Here is the link.

Be careful using the +1 image on these muster Rolls. The date is usually on the first page of multiple page rosters. You need to go to the "previous images (-)" to find the correct date, as long as "your image" is page 5 or less.
