    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Question:

Do you mean; being, able, to "Enable", the "relationship Viewing", in 'FamilySearch', with another User/Patron?

IF, such is the case; THEN,

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

Relationship Viewing: How do I turn on or off the option to view my relationship to other users?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-turn-on-or-off-the-option-to-view-my-relationship-to-other-users

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-turn-on-or-off-the-option-to-view-my-relationship-to-other-users

    I hope this helps.

    Brett

    ps: Otherwise, please advise.

    .

Please clarify - what is "kinship areas" in this context

this is not a normal term/lingo within FamilySearch that I am aware of.

I wonder if she accidentally closed the "Family Members" section on a profile's Details page, and now can't figure out why she can't see it anywhere?

If that's it, just click the little triangle to the left of the words "Family Members".

Thankyou I was contacted by a person suggesting we check familial connections and she said to open the kinship link. I couldn't see this but think from your advice that it happens automatically if I make contact with someone? Thanks Carol

    Carol

    FYI

'Yes', there are TWO (x2) places, in 'FamilySearch', that one can "Enable", the "Relationship Viewing".

    One is through our "Settings".

Whereas, the other, is when we "Select", a User's/Patron's "Contact Name".

I would suggest, that is how, you would have, done such.

    As an aside ...

DO NOT forget to make sure that, that "Relationship Viewing", is "Turned Off".

[ You do not want it left "On". You only need to "Enable" such, if and when required. ]

You can "Check"; and, if necessary, "Turn Off", that "Relationship Viewing", in your "Settings".

That "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch', that I proffered earlier, has the 'Steps' involved.

Relationship Viewing: How do I turn on or off the option to view my relationship to other users?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-turn-on-or-off-the-option-to-view-my-relationship-to-other-users

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-turn-on-or-off-the-option-to-view-my-relationship-to-other-users

I hope you had some success.

    Brett
