What do I put if I cannot see a complete year?

It would be helpful to have the batch number so that we could look at the project instructions and the field help instructions. That said, if you look at the field help for the year field ( click on the purple "?" to the right of the field) it should give instructions for this particular batch.

Hi @DRussell6 . It really does depend on the project, so please share your batch as Richard recommends, to ensure that you get accurate guidance for your project. With your batch open, try Help>Share Batch for an explanation of how to do that.
Regarding the other recommendation by Richard: The Military Year Field Help for Muster Roll and Roster project lets the Indexer look back at previous images to determine the (Military) date. The New York Land Records Deed Year Field Help doesn’t have such guidance, but both Year (Military or Deed, respectively) Field Helps have something like the following:guidance.
“If only a 2-digit number was recorded, you can sometimes determine the first 2 digits of the 4-digit year from other information, such as the project dates or other contextual information on the image.
If you cannot determine the 4-digit year, index the 2-digit number. If you cannot determine the 2-digit or 4-digit year, press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.”
So, please share your batch for the best advice, and check your batch’s Year Field Help.
