Heres a batch that Im working on and the name, entry 20, is recorded by the indexer as: Vining, Albert D. Looking at the record itself though, I cant find how they got that name. Should I delete this entry?

    I have looked again into this image, and it has an overlay at the bottom of the image:

    Look into this rule about Overlay:

    Occasionally you will come across an image that is partially covered by another document on top of it, referred to as an overlay. When this occurs, do the following:

    • If the overlay contains information about a record type being indexed in the project, create a separate record, and index the information in the corresponding fields. If it does not pertain to the record type being indexed in the project, then do not index any information from it.
    • Do not try to index any information underneath the overlay that may be visible.

    Because there is an overlay, this image should not be indexed, as it will be indexed completely in another batch by another indexer. I would treat this image on step one as No extractable data.

    Someone else may bring another opinion but this same image will come in another batch clear wihtout the overlay.

    Hope it answers your question.

    Since it appeared that the overlay was covering only that one entry on the duplicate +1 image - it sure would be nice to know that the +1 image is in a batch and transfer this image's index data to that one before marking it 'duplicate or no extractable data'. I don't think there is a way to do that - so I agree - Mark it no extractable data - lose this indexers work - and as long as +1 image is in a batch it should be reindexed.

    Hello Colin Yamamoto_1

    When you review a batch of indexed records, you verify that the information has been correctly entered.

    If you have verified such entry with a name does not exist on the image you would proceed to delete it.

    Thank you for helping us to produce accurately indexed records.

    Were there any Reference Images that showed the name? I couldn't view any on phone...

    @Mirevo

    Hey, If you look at the batch again that I showed you, and go to reference images, image +1 is an exact copy of the batch in question and it does show the name as Vining, Albert D. As a Mod, do you think I should now keep the entry? Or will it get indexed when someone indexs that image +1, and as for this image that doesnt show it, its fine to omit it.

    thanks so much for helping me
