It may depend on the project you are doing. Do you have a Shared Batch code for this one? To find the Shared batch code look at the end of the project name. You will see 7 numbers and letters in brackets starting with the letter 'M'. That is the code.

Re: the marriage of John Bainbridge and Ann Hodgson on 15 Jan 1827

    Shared Batch Code: M00316-1

    Microfilm Number: 97402

They are my ancestors and I am seeking to establish their actual parents, family and connection to the Westmorland region.

I have choices of Baptism, marriage and burial, but I get Banns of marriage, how do I index that?

@Josline M Dure it is always best to share the project title and batch code to get the most accurate answer. The batch code is the series of letters/numbers in brackets after the project title.

You will want to check the project instructions and see that banns are indexed. They are marriage records. Then you will most likely index the most recent date on the bann record. This information is in the Field Helps which are accessed by clicking on the purple question mark that appears when you click on the fields. So click the question mark on Marriage Day/Month/Year, and there will most likely be a priority list indicating that a bann date should be recorded.
