Where can I find information about setting up our Indexing Stake Group?

I have some questions relating to Indexing. I am a Stake Temple & Family History consultant and have just for the first time really looked at the Web Indexing section, which shows our Stake Group and my own ward group. Neither look to have been accessed for a quite a while. I am listed as an admin in the stake group among others. No-one is listed as an admin in my ward group. I'm not sure who would have entered the admin information to begin with? I would like to look into getting it set up and operating effectively. Is there somewhere I can find instructions relating to how to set up the group properly and ensure all our wards our added? Thank you in advance.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

Been there ... done that ...

Was in the same position/calling (a few Years ago, now ...)

Back then, there was NO real Help/Assistance ...

[ I am not sure, that there is ANY real Guide/Training Material; even, Toady ... ]

I had to learn 'on the fly'; and, 'by the seat of my pants' ...

I started by "Examining" ALL the "Stake" Groups (ie. Stake/Ward/Branch) ...

Then, I 'looked' ... 'Up the Line' ... that being, the "Parent" Groups (ie. Next ABOVE Stake; and, so on ... )

I then "Contacted", those 'Listed'; as, the "Admins", for those "Parent" (ie, "Higher" Level Groups).

As, the "Admin" for the "Stake" Group, you should have some "Control", just see what that is - these days.

I also asked the "Admins" for the Ward/Branch Groups, to ADD me to their Group; and, to make me an additional "Admin" for their respective Groups.

    That certainly helped.

    Good Luck.

I hope that this may help, somewhat.

Thank you Brett . Your reply does help. I have had a closer look and understand what it is you are recommending I do. I suspect, as you have indicated, it will take some sorting. I was hoping that there may just be some straightforward instructions somewhere....although I wasn't confident that it would be the case. On the up side, we are a small stake and I do know pretty well everyone, so should be able to sort something soon and hopefully we can make some progress on some indexing projects as a stake. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I, thought; and, was hoping, it might ...

    And ...

    Something else ...

Get, to KNOW; and, on good terms with ...

    [ On a good rapport with ... ]

▬ Stake, Temple and Family History, Consultant -- Family History Centre" ... [ Unless, like me, that is you ... ]

▬ Stake, High Counselor ... responsible for "Temple and Family History" Work

▬ Stake, Presidency Member ... responsible for "Temple and Family History" Work

... [ and, of course, ALL the Stake Presidency ]

▬ ALL the Bishops and Branch Presidents

▬ ALL the Ward/Branch, Temple and Family History, Leaders

    That, REALLY; Really; really, helps.

[ And. they, REALLY; Really; really, need help.

Get up close and personal ... in their 'Face'.

    [ But, NOT annoyingly so ... like I do ... ]

They REALLY do appreciate help and candor ... they ALL already have enough to deal with ...

They appreciate the 'push'/'nudge'; as, many, have little if any experience in "Temple & Family History" Work".

Basically, you are the OLD, Stake "Indexing", Director, position (for lack of a current term).

    Lead; Guide; and, Direct ...

Just remember ... the (Priesthood) Leaders are in Control ...

Just, Lead; Guide; and, Direct, them they way you want them to go ... letting them think, they are controlling.

Been there ... Done that ...

    Brett

ps: I am from "Downunder", so my Stake is not that large either.

    😁

@Brett . Thanks again for the advice. I believe those relationships with priesthood leaders are going well, they're all very supportive. Also from 'Downunder', in Tassie :)

    Hello, @Lisa Prebble

Thank you for your question regarding information about setting up indexing groups for the wards in your stake. Brett has given you some very good advice. I also wanted to let you know that if you go to the Indexing Help page and type in the words "Group Administrator" you will find many articles that will help you in your calling.

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/search/indexing?q=group+administrator

I hope you find this information helpful and that you find success and joy in serving as a Stake Temple and Family Consultant.
