A series of Marriage Records for 1910 has been indexed as 1900. Film # 007726260, Mississippi, County Marriages, 1858-1979.

The original page said "A.D. 190_" with the recorder to fill in the blank with the year.

After 1909 they wrote over the 0 with a one, but this was not always read correctly by the indexer.

Thus a year that should have been indexed as 1910, has instead been indexed as 1900.

A person born in 1896 is indexed as being married at age 4 instead of 14!

Can this index be corrected?

Thank you, Sue Lambert
