I'm indexing baptisms and one of the baptisms recorded shows the baby being born after the baptism. I'm assuming the clerk wrote the wrong birth year. Do I index it the way it is written knowing its wrong or leave it blank or...?

Thank you for sharing the batch. It does help!

Yes, you will have to index them as they are and the researcher will see the image.

"In general, type only what was shown on the document. The purpose of indexing is to create an accurate record of the information on the original image, mistakes and all. However, rules vary from project to project. Check the field help, which will give any exceptions to this general rule."

Here is a link to that help article on how to index incorrect records.

The best way to get an accurate answer is to share the batch. They need the batch code which is the series of letters and numbers in brackets after the project title. Example [MSXP-V7Y]

Its the top right entry in Batch [M3D3-KLG]

it says Dirk Jacobus was born on Sept 14 1890 and baptized on July 18 1890
