"Assistants" on Family Tree
Hi all,
A member posted a question in The FamilySearch tips and Tricks group about using "Assistants" to their family tree. He said that he has added his nephew as an assistant and wonders why he can't see the living people. I haven't heard of this feature? Can anyone help?
Thanks so much

Thank you for posting your question in the community about 'Assistants'. The only FamilySearch tips and tricks group we know of is a group is about videos. The link below gives you access to them,
Is he talking about using Help feature.
Family Tree protects the privacy of living people by restricting who can see their records. You can see the record of a living person only if you created the record. The system hides records you create of living people from everyone else, including the people themselves and other family members. Click the link below to read more.
We hope this helps.

Hi Carol
We found the URL for the tips and tricks group, where can join the group and ask questions. It is under Family Tree in Community and to the right under "Ask a question"

Maybe this is what you were looking for.

Thanks everyone. I am a group leader for the tips and tricks. Just had someone ask about Assistants. I think it’s a new feature,

Hi Carol,
Another way an assistant can help is to log onto another tree using, through Helper, a person's user name and helper number. However, than means you can only view one person's tree at a time and only with the specific permission of that tree holder. If that is done the assistant should not make changes to the tree they are viewing but point out changes that could be made, or other issues that could be addressed such as additions, mergers or corrections.
Best wishes
Cedar
