How do I correct my username?

I made a mistake when typing my last name, how do I make a correction?

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

Provided you are referring to your 'FamilySearch' Account ...

▬ Go to Your "Settings", TOP "Right-Hand-Corner"

▬ Select You "Display Name"

▬ On the "Drop Down" Menu, select "Settings"

▬ The "Default" (ie. FIRST) 'Tab', is "Account"

▬ On that "Default" (ie. FIRST) 'Tab', of "Account"

[ Or, simply select: https://www.familysearch.org/identity/settings/account

▬ The FIRST Section is "Names", select that "Edit", on the 'Right' of that heading.

▬ You can then "Change" any of those x4 "Names"

Full Name ... ( Private )

Username ... ( Always Private )

Contact Name ... ( Always Public )

[ A public name linked to your contributions enables people to send you messages ]

Display Name ... ( Private )

[ The "Display Name" is displayed on your 'FamilySearch' "Home/"Landing" page/screen ].

▬ Oh, and, do not forget to "Save", what you changed.

▬ Done.
