Hi all,

I'm indexing a baptistry registry. The official date of the baptism was recorded as January 16, 1886. However, there's a note to the side from the rector that says "Publicly recorded this day. Privately baptized Nov 12 1885 by me." Which date should I record as the baptism date?

Would you share the Shared Batch code so we can look at this? The code is at the end of the Project name above the document window. It is in brackets and starts with the letter 'M'.

We have reviewed the batch (Thank You for that!) and we see where the rector added the not that Gerald Geribaldi was baptised on

16 Jan 1886 was baptised and birth is 5 Nov 1885 the a note saying he was baptised 12 Nov 1885 - in this case per the first example you would index the info on the first and second column for him. This is how the record holders want the information indexed.

The researcher will see the special note use the information accordingly as they wish.

This shows the example that is listed in the Project Instructions

Thank you for the question! Thank you for your work doing Indexing!
