Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just quickly, in passing ...
Hopefully, the "Moderators" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel) ] will contact you through a "Private" Communication, to help/assist you directly.
Short Answer: 'Yes', you CAN "Block"/"Mute" another User/Patron 'Messaging' You.
For starters ...
FIRSTLY ...
In 'Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'
There is a way to STOP another User/Patron from sending you, ("Private") 'Messages', in "User Messaging", of 'FamilySearch'.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in FamilySearch':
How do I mute or block someone from messaging me?
And, here are some other "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':
What are the rules for discussions and messages?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/what-are-the-rules-for-discussions-and-messages
How do I report abuse, spam, inappropriate memories, and other content?
SECONDLY ...
In this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum
Where, it is called, "Ignore" ...
Select your "Avatar" in the TOP 'Right-Hand-Corner' ...
On the 'Drop Down' Menu, select "Edit Profile" ...
On the "Edit Profile" page/screen that appears, select "Ignore List" on the 'Right-Hand-Side" ...
On the "Ignore List" page/screen that appears, enter the "Contact Name" of the User/Patron, select OK.
Done
Pictorially ...
I hope this helps, to start with, somewhat.
